Meeting notes

It was a dismal, damp and desperately foggy evening but we had a great turnout as you can see from the list above with everyone swapping Christmas cards.  Not much deters a LTRGer.

Non-Christmas Dinner

The Non-Christmas Dinner is on Saturday 27th January at Kibworth Working Men’s Club - same as last year.  I think everyone has now paid.  If not, I would think Reg will have sent “his boys” out by now!

Ruth suggested organising another bus so if any of you from that end of town want a lift, then please get in touch fairly promptly with Ruth direct.

DON’T FORGET - ABSOLUTELY NO SILLY STRING PLEASE.

New Year’s Eve Party

By now this will have taken place.  By all accounts, fun was had by all and, as usual, Tony & Ruth came up trumps once more.  Many thanks for all party-goers.

Will someone please do us a report for next month’s TRipe.  Thanks.

Christmas socialising

Andrew and Dawn Deacon invited the LTRGers to their pad in Wilbarston for a buffet lunch on 30th December.  About 14 of us turned up and had a great time with some fantastic food prepared for us all by Dawn.

Everyone was well-stuffed at the end and asked us to send heartfelt thanks to the chef J

Events for 2007

13th January - Historic Rally Register Annual Open Day at Gaydon.  Free entry.  Those planning to go were Reg, Martin Ward, Andy Holyoak, Martin Faulkner and, someone else (? Tony Richards).

Will those interested in going get in touch with each other to make travelling arrangements.

Triumph Spares Day, Stoneleigh - 11th February.

Winter Ball - 16th - 18th March, Wales.  Those people going so far are Reg & Irene Bowler, Martin & Sue Faulkner, Colin & Ann Skinner, Tony & Ruth Richards, Kathryn & Tim Sharp, Mick & Linda Forey, Andy & Jennie Holyoak.

Phone lists

This will be sent out next month.  If anyone has any changes, please send them to Andy & Jennie asap (landlines, mobiles, addresses, emails) or let us have them at the January meeting.

Slot car challenge

It was suggested that there might be a challenge between LTRG and TSSC - date to be agreed.  (Andy says he hopes he won’t forget it this time!).

LTRG 2007 programme

This hasn’t gone any further than the heading here, we believe (sorry, Martin W if you’ve got loads in mind!).  Please come to January’s meeting armed to the teeth with ideas.  Thanks.

Andy says he’s spoken to Graham Ransome in the last few days and it was suggested that if we do a Norfolk weekend, Graham suggested we go to Kelling Heath because the facilities there are excellent.  Those who wish to B&B, Norfolk is full of them.

Gold Award

In all the furore of the AGM, we forgot to offer our congratulations to Andy Moltu on getting a well-deserved Gold Award from the Register.  He was sporting a rather nice pin at the December meeting.

Whether this was for helping people out, or for winding people up, we’re not quite sure ………… JJJ
